Tania Trepanier (Director)

Tania Trepanier began her filmmaking career with the help of several grants given out to emerging filmmakers by the Canadian government. Tania has worked as a teacher, artist, writer, and dancer. Filmmaking became a passion that incorporated many aspects of her interests. She has made numerous films, among them documentaries on everything from alternative menstrual products to a touching portrait of her grandmother.

Zain Al-Sabah (Producer)

Zain Al-Sabah came to the States from her native Kuwait ten years ago. In the duration of the stay, she earned a B.S. degree in Journalism from Boston University and worked as an assistant producer for ABC News in New York. Before coming to USC, Zain took time out to direct and produce a few of her own documentaries on a wide array of social issues in the Middle East.

Christina Piovesan (Producer)

After graduating in cultural studies from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, Christina Piovesan worked as assistant producer on several Showtime and MTV productions amongst others. In 1998 she founded BluePrint Gallery, a non-profit art gallery dedicated to promoting emerging artist. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in filmmaking from USC.

Nelson Cragg (Director of Photography)

Nelson Cragg began working with visual images as a child and continued studying art and literature in college. Filmmaking seemed to be a natural way to combine visual art and literature. Therefore, he decided to pursue graduate degree in filmmaking at USC and continues to work on projects while there.

Victoria Foster (Sound Designer)

Victoria Foster grew up in Pebble Beach, California and decided to start traveling at 15, when the Berlin wall fell in Germany. She ended up living on an island in the North Sea, where she learned East Frisian folkdancing (with wooden shoes!). Later, she studied art and immigration history at Stanford, worked in marketing in Sillicon Valley, taught Medieval History in Hawaii, and finally came back to California to make films.

Peter Tolfree (Sound Designer)

Peter Tolfree graduated from Santa Clara University with a double major in Theatre and Television Production in 1996. Over the next four years, he worked as a director, assistant director, dramaturg, and teacher for such regional companies as the American Conservatory Theatre, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, the Intiman Theater, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. He is currently studying for his Master’s in Film Production at the USC’s School of Cinema and Television. This is his first job as a sound designer.

Arlene Cox (Editor)

Arlene Cox grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. She is a visual artist, who lived and worked around the world before moving to Los Angeles with her husband, Joshua, and their daughter, Iris. Currently, Arlene is a writer/director studying at USC.

Shawn Hinds (Editor)

Shawn Hinds is a cultural theorist who read American history, critical studies, and classical social theory at Harvard University. This Rotary Foundation Scholar had a former life as a health educator and a trainer of social workers. He directed “Spell”, a black magic short that won the 1999 Whittier Film Festival Best Music and Images Award. His “Testing, One…Two” screened in LA’s Outfest 2001 this summer and, in the coming year, will screen at festivals worldwide. He is currently co-editor of a USC documentary on dance.
